As we are leaping towards the end, we have discovered all the ups and downs of the proto bot and have just barely begun to fabricate the final robot!
The chassis is performing without any difficulty, but has cut out a considerable amount of weight for the final robot.
There have been several problems with the lifter – at first the motors weren’t quite strong enough, so they were replaced and the chain that lifts it has fallen off of its sprocket countless times!
Electronics has been hard at work making sure the proto bot is wired properly and working as it should. They have also been working on the wiring for the final robot design.
Mrs. Bright – with the help of some willing student volunteers – has been hard at work making sure that the new bumpers for the robot get done in a quick and timely manner with no errors in the stickers and stitching.
The collector subsystem has been working on finalizing their designs and reducing weight to create a faster and more efficient collector.
The meeting at our facilities with the other teams was a success, but we have encountered new problems with the robot that need to be fixed. The proto bot also completed its first official climb and was able to place cubes easily on the scale!
