Our Aerial Assist bot, “Fredrrari,” broke the team’s records by becoming the most successful team robot to date. This robot featured the team’s first use of image processing with a Pandaboard, as well as a collector that caught half the total catches made during the Mt. Vernon competition, a full set of mecanum wheels, a quick acting collector and loading system, and a double ball autonomous. Fredrrari played in the semi-finals and won the Finalist Award and the Imagery Award at the Mt. Vernon District Event. Fredrrari was also successful at the Central Washington district event, taking home the coveted winner’s Blue Banner, the Industrial Safety Award, and the Innovation in Control Award. At the Pacific Northwest Super Regional in Portland, it won an additional Industrial Safety Award and a ticket for us to the World Championships. Fredrrari earned a five-win/five-loss ratio on the Newton Field in St. Louis.
