Inspired by nature. Powered by innovation.
Nothing on Earth thrives alone. Every gene, species, and ecosystem is part of a rich web of biological diversity that powers clean air, fresh water, and food. With STEM as their tool and nature as inspiration, today’s boldest innovators are finding new ways to strengthen the connections that protect our shared home.
Building. Problem solving. Growing stronger through teamwork. Welcome to our 2026-2027 biodiversity-themed robotics season, FIRST® CANOPY™.
The Anacortes Robotics Booster Club (ARBC) is pre-registering students for FIRST robotics teams from Grade 2 through 12. We support teams as follows:
- Anacortes High School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams through the AHS Robotics Club
- Anacortes Middle School FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge teams through the AMS Robotics Club
- FLL Challenge (grades 4-8) and FLL Explore (grades 2-4) community teams (not affiliated with the Anacortes School District)
Interested in participating? Find an age-appropriate program on the ARBC Programs page, follow the “details” link, click the “I’m Interested” button, and complete the pre-registration/team formation form. Pre-registration is not a commitment to participate – it simply lets ARBC know you/your student are interested so that we can include you in the team formation process for each program. All teams need two adult volunteer coaches/mentors – your participation helps ensure all students can join a team.
Important dates for forming teams this season:
- Friday 9/4 3 pm to 5 pm – Rocket Recruiting for students grades 6-10 at the AHS Robotics Lab (CTE wing)
- Friday 9/4 5 pm to 6 pm – 1st of 3 offered Parent Sessions for parents of student team members of all ages
- Monday 9/14 6 pm to 7 pm – 2nd of 3 offered Parent Sessions for parents of student team members of all ages
- Wednesday 9/16 6 pm to 7 pm – 3rd of 3 offered Parent Sessions for parents of student team members of all ages
- Monday 9/21 – ARBC Monthly Meeting at the AHS Robotics Lab
We need an active booster club to keep offering these programs. Your attendance at one of the three offered Parent Sessions is required if your student is participating on an ARBC-supported FIRST robotics team this season.
The FIRST CANOPY biodiversity-themed STEM/robotics season is underway.
