The Anacortes Domino’s Pizza fundraiser (December 17th) was a wild success! Thank you to everyone who helped out by spreading the world and/or buying pizza. Adam, the owner of the Anacortes Domino’s, is a big supporter of our local community. Please let him know how much you appreciate his support of robotics (and other community organizations) the next time you stop in.
Volunteers are still needed. Spring is on the horizon, but we still have to get through winter! The upper level programs still have advanced competitions to go (State championships, and the World Championships) and you can help out by volunteering. This is also a great way to see how the programs work from the inside. See the ARBC Volunteering page for more information. We also need more coaches for FLL Explore teams forming this spring (see below).
ARBC Meeting tonight! 3rd Monday of the month at 6 pm is our regular ARBC meeting. Please come over to the AHS Robotics Lab and see how you can help out with our Spring outreach and summer events, ask questions about forming a team, or just enjoy the company of other education-minded individuals.
ARBC Ice Cream Social – Sunday March 22, 2026 – each year ARBC holds an ice cream social for ARBC-supported teams. Mark your calendar now so that your student can participate with their team! If you are a team coach, please save your season artifacts so that you can show them off. Some teams choose to put together a short presentation about their team’s journey this season. These are always received well and help show parents more about the programs. You will be contacted by the planning committee to see if your team can participate.
FLL Explore teams are now forming for the Winter/Spring! If you are the parent of a 2nd through 4th grader who is interested in participating on an FLL Explore team, please pre-register now. Note – each team needs 2 adult leaders. Some students missed out on FLL Explore teams last fall due to a lack of adult leaders – be sure to indicate your desire to help out as a coach if you can so that we can form as many teams as we have students to fill them! See the FLL Explore program page for more info.
Finally, we have Spring Outreach events coming up at the Anacortes elementary schools. Each school has a different style of event, held on the evening of a school day, where ARBC-supported teams show off their program and encourage more students to join. The AHS Robotics Cub’s FTC team(s) bring their robots, as do some of the FLL Challenge teams. If you are a coach, please consider getting some of your student team members to agree to be ambassadors to future student team members! ARBC will announce the dates as soon as they are confirmed with the local elementary schools.
