What a season so far!\u00a0<\/span>Our team, currently 18 students, competed in Mt. Vernon on March 3-4 and went to the semi-finals, also winning the Imagery Award, and were one of the top 3 teams in safety. The Imagery Award celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance. After Mt. Vernon, we saw some need to make the robot more stable when the lift was fully extended. To solve the stability issue, we replaced one set of pneumatic wheels with omni wheels which worked beautifully.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On March 17-18, we competed in Auburn against 36 teams from Washington and Alaska. We ended up as Captains of the 7th Alliance, but were unable to move out of the Quarter Finals as the 2nd Alliance was incredibly strong. We did, however, win the Safety Award!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We are currently sitting in 22nd place in our district of 154. The top 64 teams will go on to compete at the Pacific Northwest District Championship competition over Spring Break. \u00a0At this time, it looks like the Cyborg Ferrets will be heading to Portland, but we will not know for sure until other teams have finished competing.<\/span><\/p>\n

A big shout out to our safety team! \u00a0Safety Captain Kathryn Coryell, Athena Matteson, Deborah James, Nathan Doebler, Isabella Butler, Ian Doebler, and Micah Arnott have upgraded, educated, and marketed our safety program into an award-winning program that has been recognized at both competitions so far.
