Fred-amaran\u2019s unique ability was to grab cans at the start of the game and the robot had an arm used for grabbing cans that could also be used to complete the coopertition stack from up to 5 feet away. Although other teams developed more effective grabbing devices, they lacked the ability to control the can\u2019s alignment to the degree ours did. These aspects of Fred-amaran won the team three awards: two Excellence in Engineering Awards and a Creativity Award.
